Songbirds - Set 4

This is proabbly going to be the last set of Songbirds I do for a while.  They're just so simple to make that I do a whole bunch at once and then I get really bored and tired of them.

Like my last batch of Songbirds, these were made to be sold at a benefit concert.

Checkered Songbird for Michael

Burnt Songbird

Azure Songbird

Forest Songbird

Songbirds - Set 3

Oho, more Songbirds.  Always Songbirds.

Most of these are going to be for sale at the same benefit concert as the owl stones.

Fire Songbird for Janelle

Sunny Songbird

Pink Songbird

Ghost Songbird.  This is my favorite of the batch and I'll be sad to see him go.

Songbirds - Set 2

Here's another set of Songbirds.  I feel like I could continuously make these and still have a bunch of friends wanting one.

There's actually a fourth Songbird not pictured above because... it was windy and hard to get pictures.  My friend James took them and so they are super artistic and awesome.

Springtime Songbird for Kellsie.

Sky Songbird for Zac.

Spotted Songbird for Justin.

Oriole Songbird for Elyse.

Mustache Pillow

I'm only going to post one more of the mustache items that I ended up making for Kait.  But it was the best thing ever, so. Yeah.  Mustache pillow!

It was exceptionally easy to make; I just drew up the pattern, cut it out of fleece, and sewed it together.  It's pretty much as simple as it gets.  It also looks fantastic.

Songbirds - Set 1

I guess this is my first post about songbirds....

They started out as a simple request from my friend Sarah; she pointed out a small felt bird to me and asked it I could make on.  Of course I could.  In fact I could make it better.  Thus started off the Songbird fest.  I've made at least 30, and given most away.  I don't think I want to retroactively post any though, so I will only be putting new Songbirds up on this blog.

Sunburst Songbird, made for my friend Kristin.  This was  based off her favorite color being yellow.

Autumn Songbird, made for my friend Stephanie.  Her favorite colors were fall colors.  I threw a red feather in just for fun.

Phoenix Songbird, made for my friend Stormie.  She requested a phoenix, like Fawkes from Harry Potter.  These are totally my head-cannon colors for Fawkes.  I think this is one of my favorite Songbirds that I've made so far.

Giant Pillow Squid

One day I was looking for a fun DIY and I found the 8 ft. long Squid Pillow.

Yes.  It's giant.  It's bigger than me.  It was also a ton of fun to make.  This was definitely one of my larger projects.  I think it took... five bags of Polyfil to stuff him, and those long tentacles were a pain to turn... but all in all he turned out swimmingly.  I'd also like to point out that my socks match the squid matches my shirt matches my earrings.

I made him out of fleece instead of felt (except for the eyes)... and that made a dent in my wallet.  He's machine sewn, except for the eyes.  Those were handsewn on.
