Painted Stone Owls - Set 3

Oh man, third set of owl stones.  I'm burnt out on these things!  Probably won't be doing them for a while.

Somehow, all the tiniest of my rocks ended up in this batch.  They make fore very cute little owls.  I also ended up doing some different designs.

Little dark gold owl

Little light gold owl

Domino owl!  This one is my fave.

Some kind of garish pink owl.

Silver and black owl

Peppermint owl.

Purple owl

Painted Stone Owls - Set 2

More Painted Owls!  I made these a little before Spring Break but it's been quite a hectic time for me that I haven't had the chance to take pictures of them.

ARTISTS is doing another art sale/benefit concert and I was asked to make some more of these little guys since they sold so well at the last one.

Some of these guys are repeats from last time, but I liked the patterns... ie snowy owls.

Others are new designs!  This is definitely my favorite of the batch.

Shadow owl?

Light blue owl.

Apparently I think blue owls should be a thing.

Parrot owl.

Finally my favorite design from last time.  Blue and brown!

Painted Stone Owls - Set 1

My organization is putting on a little benefit show, and we needed things to sell, so I painted up these little rocks to look like owls. I found a picture of them somewhere, but it wasn't the original source, and I keep being led in circles while looking for it.

All the owls, all together.

This was probably one of my favorite rocks, but I'm quite partial to snowy owls.

I made two with this design because I wanted to keep one for myself.  I chose the littler guy since he was teh first rock I painted.

This guy's pretty cool, because purple is pretty cool.

I don't know what's up with this guy.  I just wanted to use green.

Big blue owl.

Little blue owl

Little gray owl.

This one looks like the pair of brown ones, but he's actually a foxy red.  He gave me a lot of trouble so I finally gave up and defaulted to blue markings since those worked so well.

Avery Painting

I've been doing a lot of painting lately.  I blame my friend Susanna.  This is a good thing.

For some reason I really wanted to work in yellows and oranges.  It is a rare occasion that I work with a color pallet such as this... and even rarer for me not to use blue.  I like how it turned out.  Yay.

Careful Hands Painting

I'm so bad at this whole remembering to update this blog thing.  It's not that I haven't been making art, it's just that I haven't been posting it.

My friend Rachel has a large wall covered in paintings at her house, but there are some spots with empty canvases.  So she asked me to paint on one of them.  Then... this... happened... it wasn't planned and I started off with blue, but somehow everything changed and I rather like it!

The Lonely Hunter Painting

I felt like I needed some proof that I do more than crochet.  The whole crochet and amigurumi thing is actually rather new.  So, time for something I've been doing for years: painting.

It's an oldie, but a goody.  I painted this back in February.  It was... around 3 am when I started it, and I quit at around 6 am, mostly finished.  I did touch-ups the following week.  This is probably one of the bigger things I've painted, at 14" x 16".  I really liked the painting, but I kind of made it with the intention of giving it to the members of The Lonely Hunter (a local band I like)  I eventually got the painting to its target owners and it was a tearful, needlessly awkward goodbye/gift—sans tears.

And for some reason I really wanted to make a digital version.  Probably so that I could always have a version... and also because black and white is really easy to clean up!
