Night Fury Amigurumi

I've been looking for a good Night Fury ami pattern since... well, I learned how to crochet.  I stumbled upon this one by accident.  I don't even know how I got there.  But I fell in love.

The pattern was really easy to follow.  The most complicated thing I had to do was make the toes, and even then I didn't have a problem.  The toes are so cute!

I used Red Heart: Super Savers - Black yarn for this, and I worked it with my trusty G hook.  The eyes are felt that's been sewn into place.  Also, I'd recently broken my plastic tapestry needles so I upgraded to metal needles.  I like them so much more.

I also really liked how the wings turned out.  There was no picture for them so I didn't know how they looked, but they're cute and they look good.  There is no pattern for the tail fins, so I made them up on the spot.  Same for the secondary wing flaps.

  1. WOW!! This turned out awesome, I'm so happy to see what other peoples' Toothlesses look like! I'm glad you liked my pattern and I'm happy to see that the wings turned out well too. I love the little shinies that you added to his eyes!

  3. Great job on your cutie Toothless!

I really like your take on the tailfins! I have been having a hard time following the tailfin and wing instructions on Sarselgurumi's page - would you be able to explain them (or maybe even post a video or pictures if you have time? No worries if you can't) in more beginner-terms?

These lines were the most confusing for me:

"Ch 5, work sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc 3 in next ch, ss to last ch and fasten off."

I've consulted every resource I can find online, but video tutorials are geared for those who are just learning the basics, and anything slightly more complicated assumes you are capable of understanding the lingo.

    Please help!

    1. Well, you chain 5, and then the last chain you did you skip. (Don't do anything in that chain)
The next chain you sc 1 in.
The next chain you sc 3 times in.
Then you slip stitch in the remaining chains.
      Then fasten off.
Did that explain it well enough for you? :)

  4. I too found this pattern and fell in love with it. I can't, however, get to the tail pattern that she gives. I go to the site and there is so much stuff and I don't know where to find it. Can you help me? snadsofra@charter.net

  5. You know, this pattern reminds me of Stitch, AKA experiment 626, at first glance, though a bit slimmed down. Maybe if you worked this pattern in a blueish color, with a shorter tail and only the center two hornlets (extended into antennas) left on out of the six, it just might work...

  6. Excuse me, I'm trying to make one, and I'm following the pattern, but I have trouble understanding how to make the body's wings, could someone draw a picture of the pattern, to understand it better? thank you
